Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on how to get started with coding from the very beginning. My friends suggested that I avoid Free Code Camp, claiming it's not worth my time. Instead, I'm considering The Odin Project. I see that it has a lot of reading material, which I can handle, but I'm hoping not to go too slow or get too complicated too quickly. Any suggestions or tips for beginners would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for taking the time to help me out.

Not sure why you’d want to skip a free program like Free Code Camp. It can’t hurt to try, and you might learn something valuable.
If you’re interested in strong fundamentals, Haskell might be a good language to start with. I launched a free platform to help beginners learn Haskell. Programming is tough, but once you get the basics down, it becomes easier!
What do you want to code for? The Odin Project is great for web development. If you’re interested in data analysis or game development, though, you might need a different approach. What’s your goal?
I want to become a full-stack developer for websites, and eventually dive into cybersecurity.
The Odin Project has a solid curriculum, but be prepared for a lot of reading. It’s a good choice for web development!
Thanks for the insight!
The Odin Project focuses on web development. If I were starting out, I’d suggest Python as my first language. It’s a popular choice for beginners, according to surveys.
Honestly, just find what works best for you. I tried several camps and YouTube tutorials, but I learned best by downloading an IDE, picking a project, and using online resources like W3Schools. Good luck!
I appreciate the advice, thanks!

I'll check that out, thanks for sharing!
