I'm thinking about upgrading my GPU or maybe my CPU since I want to avoid my system dying on me. I'm looking into the RTX 5070 Ti or the RX 9070, but I'm not the best when it comes to computer specs. Most of my usage is gaming, with occasional normal tasks, but gaming is my main focus. Here are my current specs:

**CPU:** Intel Core i7-10700K 3.8 GHz 8-Core
**CPU Cooler:** Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE LCD XT 65.57 CFM Liquid Cooler
**Motherboard:** Asus ROG STRIX Z490-A GAMING ATX LGA1200
**RAM:** Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16
**SSD:** Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 & Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB M.2 PCIe 3.0
**GPU:** Asus ROG STRIX GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8 GB
**Case:** Corsair iCUE 7000X
**Power Supply:** Corsair RM850x (2021) 850 W 80+ Gold

For gaming, I’d recommend the RX 9070 XT unless you really care about ray tracing. For tasks outside of gaming, the 5070 Ti is better for non-gaming applications. Since you mentioned you’re not so keen on ray tracing, the 9070 XT could be your best bet for heavy performance games like Monster Hunter.

Interesting! I do want something good for performance games, so the 9070 XT sounds right.

If you're even slightly open to AMD, the 9070 is a great choice and you could save some cash. Just remember, upgrading to make the 9070 work at peak performance might mean switching out a few components, so keep that in mind!

Yeah, I figured I'd need to upgrade some stuff. Are there any major parts I should be looking at for the 9070?

If you're on a budget, go for the RX 9070 over the XT, but if you can swing it, the 5070 Ti is the better overall card. Just keep an eye on prices since that can make a big difference between the two.

Your system can actually handle a wide range of GPUs, even up to the Nvidia RTX 5090! But keep in mind that your power supply might struggle with the highest-end models due to their power draw during peak usage. If you're mostly gaming and not super into ray tracing, both the RTX 5070 Ti and RX 9070 XT are solid options, with the 5070 Ti showing better performance in certain scenarios, especially if CUDA support is something you might need. They’re quite similar in gaming overall, though.

Got it! So I can skip the 5090 and just focus on those two. Good to know the performance comparison!
