Since Portainer has moved to a paid model, I'm wondering what everyone is using as a replacement. Are there any recommendations for platforms that can handle Docker management, and is there a guide to help in transitioning? I also need to preserve my existing stacks, but I don't have access to one of my instances right now.

Actually, Portainer is still available for free under the zlib license. You might have missed that. They offer a free three-node license if you reach out to them, but it isn't super obvious on their site.
If you’re looking for alternatives, you should check out Dockge. I've been using it, and it handles Docker Compose YAML really well. It's straightforward and does what I need without the extra complications.
I decided to go a different route and moved away from containers altogether, opting for a VPS setup instead. I’m using Laravel Forge for my PHP sites, which has made management a breeze. Just a thought if you're open to options outside of containers!
I switched from Portainer to Komodo and it's been great! It pulls new images efficiently and offers more control over redeployment. Definitely worth a try if you want something that works smoothly.
I recently switched to Dockwatch. It's not as feature-rich as Portainer, but it fits my simpler needs perfectly. Sometimes less is more, you know?
