I recently got a new power supply but it only includes one 8-pin PCIe cable and two 12-pin cables. I need three 8-pin cables for my 9070 XT OC GPU. I'm currently waiting on support from MSI to resolve this, but I'm not very optimistic. Is using a 12-pin to dual 8-pin adapter a bad move?

It seems like there might be some confusion about the cables. A 12-pin cable is pretty specific, so just to clarify, are you talking about something like a PCIe pigtail that has two 8-pin connectors? If your PSU is new, it should ideally come with multiple 8-pin cables, so it’s weird that you're short on those.
Honestly, it sounds like you might have chosen a PSU that doesn't meet your needs. Make sure to check if MSI can send you more of the right cables—they're supposed to provide what works with their PSUs. If they’re not helpful, a 12-pin to dual 8-pin adapter could work, but I'd be cautious about it, especially regarding power stability.
