Hey everyone! I need some advice on whether I should upgrade my GPU. My current setup is from 2023 and includes an RTX 3070, an Intel Core i7-12700F, 32 GB of RAM, and a 4 TB SSD. I'm considering moving to either an RTX 5070 Ti or an RTX 5080. Is it worth making this upgrade, and do I need to change anything else, like my power supply? I think my CPU might be okay, but I'm concerned that my 650W Cooler Master MWE Gold might not be enough for these new cards.

Upgrading to an RTX 5070 Ti or 5080 would indeed provide you with a noticeable performance increase. However, you'll want to think about your budget and what you really need. Are you frequently running out of VRAM or do you just want to play on maximum settings? Also, you will absolutely need to upgrade your power supply; I recommend 750W for the 5070 Ti and 850W for the 5080 to ensure stable performance.
I spotted a Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 V3 PSU on sale. Would that work well with the new cards?
Your current power supply is definitely on the smaller side for those cards. Whether it's worth upgrading really depends on what performance you're looking for. If the RTX 3070 isn't meeting your gaming needs anymore, then I would say it's time for an upgrade. The 5070 Ti offers about 86% more performance at around $750, while the 5080 gives you 113% more performance for about $1000. Bear in mind that actual prices fluctuate, so what you end up paying could change the value of the upgrade significantly. Personally, I think that the extra cost for a slight bump in performance over the 3070 might not be worth it if you're on a tight budget.
I just got a new 4K HP Omen monitor, and I'm hoping my PC can keep up with it. Can you clarify the performance numbers? Is it really just a 37% increase or an 86% increase with the 5070 Ti?
The upgrade to a new monitor can change everything! You're definitely looking at a bigger upgrade if you're targeting higher resolutions.

Thanks for the tip! I was planning to upgrade the PSU if I go for a new GPU.
