Hey everyone! I'm thinking about switching to Linux, but I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the options out there. Every time I settle on a distro, I hear someone say I should try something else. Here are my requirements: I prefer to have minimal to no terminal usage, the interface needs to look nice (nothing like Mint), it should be stable with few bugs, and I'd like a large community for support. I've got a GTX 960m and an i7 6700HQ. What distro would you recommend?

Ultimately, Ubuntu is probably your best bet given your requirements. Just remember that you likely won't escape some terminal use entirely, as it can be handy for troubleshooting later on.
Be aware of your graphics card drivers for your GTX 960m. If you want to stay in the Ubuntu space, consider Ubuntu Cinnamon or Kubuntu, which should both offer a solid experience.
I'd suggest trying Mint with the Cinnamon desktop if you haven't already. It's user-friendly and looks nice in my opinion. However, if you want something a bit more advanced, Fedora with the Plasma desktop is worth a shot; it’s pretty but may have the occasional bug.
If you're looking for a distro that feels a bit like Windows, Zorin OS is a great choice. It’s modern and user-friendly. Alternatively, Ubuntu is well-known for its large community and extensive resources, making it a solid option as well.
Check out a site like Distrowatch to explore different distros. You can use a Ventoy stick to try them out. Look for reviews, and don’t be afraid to experiment! Just dive in and see which one clicks for you.
