I'm considering upgrading my Dell XPS 8960 with a PNY 5070Ti for $500, but I'm wondering if it's worth it. Would this upgrade lead to any bottlenecks with my current setup? I have a free RAM slot and could add another stick of RAM, but I'm hesitant to spend a lot on that due to the high prices right now. Here are my current specs:
- OS: Windows 11 Pro
- Memory: 32GB DDR5 (1 stick at 5600 MT/s)
- Storage: 2TB (2 x 1TB) PCIe M.2 SSD Gen4
- Processor: 14th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-14700 (20 Core, 28 threads, 2.1 GHz to 5.3 GHz)
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 12GB GDDR6X
- Cooling: Standard CPU Air-Cooling
- Power Supply: 750W

I have a question: if the 750W supply doesn’t have enough connections for the GPU, do you think upgrading to a 1000W would help? I know some Dell systems use proprietary power supplies.
You should be able to run the 5070Ti with your setup, but just double-check that your 750W power supply has enough connections for the GPU. It’s a solid upgrade, but make sure nothing else in your system is going to hold you back performance-wise.
