I'm considering making the jump from a 4080 Super GPU to a 5080. Given the current state of the GPU market, has anyone here gone through this upgrade? If so, do you think it was a worthwhile investment? What kind of performance differences should I expect?

Honestly, I wouldn't bother with the upgrade. The 5080 only offers about a 10-15% increase in performance, which isn't significant enough to justify the cost.
I think it's not worth it unless you catch a great deal. The 5090 or 4090 would be more worthwhile upgrades in the long run, but they're pretty pricey.
It really depends on what you're aiming to achieve. If you're the type who just cranks the settings to high and enjoys smooth gameplay, then the upgrade isn't worth it. But if you’re into competitive gaming and need those higher frame rates—like 200+ fps—then it might be justifiable.
Also consider if you're gonna shell out around $600 for this upgrade! You might be better off sticking with what you have unless you can sell your 4080 Super for a decent price.
In my opinion, if you can sell your 4080 Super close to the price of the 5080, then it could be worth considering, but otherwise, it doesn't seem like a smart move.

Exactly, unless you're looking for just higher numbers, it doesn't make sense. I'm sticking with my 4080 Super until there's a better option.
