Which Linux Distro is Best for Beginners Interested in Gaming and Editing?

Hey everyone! I'm thinking about switching from Windows to Linux but I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the options out there. My setup includes an RTX 4060, 32GB RAM, and an i7 12700KF. I enjoy video editing and streaming (I mainly use OBS for that), and I love gaming on titles like Elden Ring and Hades 2. I've heard good things about Nobara and Pop!_OS, but I'm not really sure which would suit me best as I'm looking for something user-friendly. I want to dive into Linux without getting into something too complex like Void Linux. Any recommendations?

Nobara is also worth considering as it's built for gaming and has a lot of optimizations. Plus, MX Linux is stable too, but not sure how it handles gaming—it's more for those who want something rock solid.

I'd suggest starting with Mint. It's pretty user-friendly and most things work right out of the box, which is perfect if you're not feeling super techy. You can always switch to something else if you find it doesn't meet your needs later!

If gaming is a big priority, you might want to look at Bazzite or Pop!_OS. They’re tailored for gaming and support your Nvidia card really well. Just a heads up though, Pop!_OS had some recent updates that are still a bit buggy, so check that out.

Perhaps try Zorin OS as well! It has a Windows-like interface, which might help with the transition, and it supports software like Adobe Premiere Pro. Easy to install and user-friendly for newcomers!

Honestly, for an easy experience, go with Ubuntu-based distros, especially if you're using an Nvidia card. It's generally a smooth setup, and the KDE Plasma desktop is really nice too—very customizable and feels somewhat like Windows!

I've given Kubuntu a shot on my older MacBook, and it’s been solid! Definitely give it a try.
