I'm considering a major upgrade from my current 3060 and have been looking into the RTX 5080. It seems to offer about a 17-23% performance increase compared to the 5070 Ti, but it comes with a price hike of 25-50%. Given these numbers, I'm wondering if the upgrade is really worth it or if I'm just better off sticking with the 5070 Ti. Any thoughts?

It really comes down to diminishing returns. You gotta ask yourself if you're willing to pay the extra for those extra frames.
Honestly, the value for the price doesn’t look good when comparing the 5080 to the 5070 Ti. I’d say save the extra cash to invest in a better CPU or more RAM instead.
Okay, first off, you didn't mention what you'll be using the GPU for. If it's mainly for gaming, that's one thing. Also, don’t just look at performance percentages based on price. You might want to consider other factors like VRAM if you plan on using it for big workloads. If you're just game mastering at 200 FPS, the 5070 Ti can hold its ground well enough for casual play.
It really depends on the price difference. If the 5080 is, say, $250 more than the 5070 Ti, that could be worth it. But if we're talking $500 difference, then I'd probably skip it.

Seems like many commenters agree that the 5080 isn't the best deal, so I think I’ll take your advice and grab some extra RAM instead!
