Is the RTX 5060 Ti a better choice than the 5070 for gaming?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my RTX 3070 because I've been running into issues with only 8 GB of VRAM—it's been causing bottlenecks in several games. Given that GPU prices might rise soon, I'm eager to make a move before that happens. I'm torn between the RTX 5060 Ti, which boasts 16 GB of VRAM but doesn't offer a huge performance improvement over my current card, and the RTX 5070, which has only 12 GB of VRAM but shows a significant boost in performance. Do you think 12 GB will be sufficient for 1440p gaming with the latest AAA titles? Will it hold up in the near future? Just so you know, I'm not able to stretch my budget to consider the RTX 5070 Ti, and AMD options here are pretty pricey too. I'd really appreciate any advice you can share, thanks!

I'd say the 5070 is a great choice. While 12 GB might seem low, it should be enough for 1440p gaming for the next few years without too many issues.

You'll be good with the 12 GB in the 5070—it should handle most games pretty well. The extra power will really help avoid the VRAM issues you've faced with your 3070.

If you can swing the cost, definitely go for the 5070! It's a really solid GPU and will likely serve you better in the long run compared to the 5060 Ti.

The 5070 is the way to go! Just keep in mind that while you may have to lower some settings here and there, it’s definitely more powerful than the 5060 Ti, especially for newer games.

That makes sense! I'd rather have the extra performance right now than worry about the slight VRAM difference.
