What Projects Have You Built as a DevOps or Platform Engineer?

I'm currently working as a platform engineer with experience in Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Python, and CI/CD. I'm keen to start developing my own project but find myself stuck in the idea phase. Most of the advice out there seems to focus on traditional app development, which isn't really my background.

I'm looking to explore what types of products might be suitable for someone with my skills. Has anyone successfully built something using their DevOps or platform engineering expertise? Did you focus on infrastructure tools, or did you pivot to learning application development? I'm interested in real examples, including any failures or insights from your own experiences. Thanks for sharing!

I developed a Next.js Kubernetes troubleshooting platform that connects to the cluster's API. It simplifies network diagnostics, making it easier for our dev team since they don't have to learn kubectl or helm.

That sounds awesome! I'm new to DevOps and would love to learn more about it. Is there a public repo for this?
