I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 2600 with an RX 6600. I'm considering upgrading to the R7 3700X for $85. Do you think this upgrade is worthwhile?

Honestly, I wouldn't consider the 3700X if you're looking for longevity. The AM4 socket is pretty much at its end, and you might be better off saving up for a newer generation like the Ryzen 5 5600 or even the 5800X if you can.
I think the 3700X is a decent option, but if your budget allows, I'd recommend aiming for a Ryzen 5 5600 or 5600X. Just make sure to update your BIOS before the swap!

$85 for the 3700X isn’t the best deal. You might find that a Ryzen 3600 could get you just as much performance for a lot cheaper if you look at the used market.
