Help! My PC Won’t Turn On—What Should I Do?

I'm having a serious issue with my PC. It was working fine last night, but now it won't power on at all. I tested the power supply using a paper clip and the fan turns on, so it seems to be okay. I've removed the RAM sticks and even swapped out the GPU for an old one that I know worked before, but nothing. This setup had been running perfectly for four months, although I did notice a few freezing issues while playing GTA 5 and some other games like Call of Duty. Now, there's absolutely no response from the motherboard—no lights, no sounds, just silence and the sound of my heart breaking. I'm worried it might be a dead motherboard. Any advice on what I can try next?

I feel your pain! I would suggest you check the warranty for the motherboard, just in case. It might be eligible for a replacement even if you think it’s dead. If you can, see if a friend has a compatible board that you could test your components with to see if the issue is with your motherboard or something else. Good luck!

It sounds frustrating! First, double-check all the power cables including both the motherboard and CPU power connectors. Sometimes they can get loose. Have you tried a different outlet or even a different power strip? It could be something as simple as that. Also, make sure the power switch on the back of the PSU is switched on if your power supply has that feature.

Have you tried resetting the CMOS? Sometimes that can help clear issues like this. Just unplug the PC, take out the CMOS battery for a few minutes, and then put it back in. If it’s still dead after that, it’s looking more like a motherboard issue. I know it’s tough, but hang in there!
