Hey everyone! I've been thinking about fully switching to Linux after some rough experiences with dual booting in the past, where I ended up bricking my overclocked system — probably my fault, lol. These days, I don't play games that use kernel-level anti-cheats anymore, and I want to create more boundaries to avoid going back to them. I'm considering either Linux Mint or Bazzite for my needs, which mainly consist of gaming and browsing. Does anyone have tips or recommendations on where I could find help if I run into problems? Thanks a lot!

Don’t be afraid to make mistakes — that’s how we learn! Just remember to back up your data and consider creating a separate /home partition during installation. Using Timeshift can also save you a lot of trouble by allowing you to revert to previous states if needed.
Using a separate drive for Linux installation can be a smart move; just unplug your Windows drive during the process to avoid any mishaps. This way, you can switch back to Windows anytime if you need to.
It’s pretty hard to really mess up when installing Linux. The worst-case scenario is needing to reinstall. Just back everything up beforehand, and you’ll be okay!
I recommend using CachyOS if you're on an AMD system like I am — it's fantastic for gaming and makes installation of gaming tools a breeze. For troubleshooting, I just rely on Google or search wikis. Also, don't get caught up in the 'terminal for everything' meme; plenty can be done through the UI without risking your system.
The Arch Linux wiki is an amazing resource, even if you aren't using Arch, so definitely check it out when you run into issues. The documentation is usually pretty solid and can guide you in the right direction.
Interesting! I'll give it a look.
You've got this! Taking the leap can be daunting, but I believe in you!
Thanks for the encouragement!
You might want to try using a virtual machine before fully committing to an installation. It allows you to experiment without any risks. Once you feel ready, then make the switch!
I considered that, but I'm hoping to do some gaming too.

I second Cachy for my AMD setup; it's been great!
