Hey everyone! I've recently installed 32GB of RAM in my new PC build, but I've noticed that my task manager shows a RAM usage that doesn't seem to add up. Even when no applications are open, the highest usage is around 200MB from my antivirus, yet it totals around 6-7GB including cached memory after a restart. I'm uncertain if this indicates a memory leak since the system is new and my startup programs aren't clamoring for resources. I'm attached some views from Task Manager and RAM analysis tools for context. While it's not a critical issue right now, I'm worried it might become problematic over time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

7GB on standby does seem high, especially for a new build. Have you checked for any background processes taking up RAM? It might be worth looking into some resource management tools to see what's really consuming your memory.
From what you've described, this RAM behavior seems pretty normal. Windows tends to use available RAM for caching to improve performance. Unless you're experiencing actual slowdowns or crashes, I wouldn’t be too worried about the numbers you're seeing.
Just a thought, if you're concerned about potential malware affecting your RAM usage, it's worth running a scan with a reliable antivirus or anti-malware tool. Sometimes, hidden processes can drain memory without you realizing it.
