Can Someone Track My iPhone Location Just Using My Phone Number?

Hey everyone, I need some help understanding a weird situation I'm in. I've been talking to a girl who has my phone number, and I've noticed something strange: whenever I search for an address in Apple Maps, she seems to show up at the same place shortly after. This only happens when my iPhone's Location Services are turned on. When I turn it off, it stops. I haven't shared my Apple ID or my location with anyone, and I don't see any unrecognized devices linked to my account. So, is it really possible for someone to track me just with my phone number? And what steps should I take to make sure my iPhone or iCloud hasn't been compromised? Thanks for your help!

No, under normal circumstances, it's not possible to track someone using just their phone number. You should definitely change your passwords, enable two-factor authentication (2FA), and log out from all devices to secure your account. After doing that, check for any recently logged-in devices to ensure everything is okay.

It's technically possible to track someone by their phone number, but that usually requires some advanced skills, like hacking into the cellular network, which is unlikely. It sounds more like she might have somehow gotten access to your location details through a sharing setting. Double-check your Find My app, and maybe consider changing your Apple password.

If you’re feeling a bit paranoid, it's worth testing things out. You could go to a public place, set a meeting there (maybe with another friend), and see if she shows up. If she does, it raises some serious red flags. Just make sure you also check your location settings and privacy options.

There are a few ways to share locations on iPhones, and one of those features might be turned on. You can share your location using the Find My app, Messages, or Maps, with options for how long you share it for. Make sure to check the Find My app to see if you’re unknowingly sharing your location.

You might want to check the apps on your phone. For example, Google Maps has a location sharing feature that could have been activated. Tap on your name next to the search bar, go into settings, and see if she’s there with the sharing option set to ‘Until you turn this off.’ That could explain what’s happening!
