Hey everyone! I just put together a new setup with a motherboard, CPU, and RAM combo from Microcenter, reusing my HX850 power supply and case. However, whenever I try to install Windows, the system keeps rebooting, and I've had no luck with Ubuntu either. I've also experienced random reboots outside of the installation attempts. I've tried removing and swapping the RAM sticks, and they passed memtest, plus I've used different disks for installation. My gut feeling is that the motherboard might be the issue. I even attempted to upgrade the BIOS but faced the same reboot problem. I'd love to hear your thoughts before deciding what to do next. Thanks!

You might want to try running the motherboard outside of the case to see if it works better that way. Also, if you have a short drive to Microcenter, their return policy is pretty good, so consider exchanging it if possible! Just to clarify, when you said you upgraded the BIOS and still have the same issue, does that mean the update went through, but the Windows installation still fails?
I once had a weird issue with an X570 motherboard while testing, and it turned out to be a dead CMOS battery! Might be worth seeing if you can boot from a live USB like Hiren's or Ubuntu without the full install to run some tests.
Have you let the motherboard finish its RAM training cycle? It may take a few reboots to settle. Also, using a motherboard speaker can really help with troubleshooting — they can give you beep codes that point to specific issues.
