Trouble Installing Operating System: Possible Motherboard Issues?

Hey everyone, I've recently assembled a new setup with a motherboard, CPU, and RAM purchased from Microcenter, reusing my HX850 power supply and case. When I try to install Windows, the system just reboots continuously. I've attempted several times and even switched USB sticks, but no luck. I also tried installing Ubuntu, but that failed too. I've noticed random reboots outside of installation attempts as well.

I've removed one stick of RAM and swapped it out with the other, and the memory passed memtest. I've also tried different disks, but I'm still stuck. My instinct tells me the motherboard might be the culprit, especially since I tried upgrading the BIOS but the issue persists. I'm looking for some advice before I make any decisions. Thanks!

Have you let the motherboard do its RAM training? This can take a few reboots to complete, and it might resolve the problem. Plus, having a motherboard speaker can help diagnose problems by signaling any issues.

I went through a similar headache with an x570 motherboard while trying to install Linux. It turned out that the CMOS battery was the issue! It's wild but sometimes those batteries can fail. Have you considered booting from a live OS like Hiren's or Ubuntu to see if you can isolate the problem without a full installation?

Have you tried running the motherboard outside of the case? Sometimes issues can come from grounding problems when everything's installed in the case. If it's a short trip, you might also consider returning or exchanging it at Microcenter; they have flexible return policies. Just to clarify, when you mentioned upgrading the BIOS, did that update go through but the installation still fails? If the BIOS update didn't take, it might be worth returning the board altogether.

I successfully upgraded the BIOS, but unfortunately, I still have the same issue.
