I just got a new 5080 graphics card installed and tried to set it up with the latest drivers. I looked away for a moment, and when I came back, my PC had turned off completely. Now, every time I boot my computer with the 5080 installed, it freezes right after I log into Windows, and then it crashes, attempting to repair itself. I'm looking for some troubleshooting advice. Anyone have any ideas?

This situation might point to a faulty GPU, but it's also good to check your power supply. What wattage is it? Don't forget to ensure you fully uninstalled the old drivers before installing your new 5080, as leftover files can create conflicts.
It sounds like there could be corruption in your current setup. If you have a USB drive and a spare computer, I recommend creating a Windows installation on that drive. A fresh install might help. That said, if everything runs smoothly with your old GPU, it could indicate the 5080 itself might be faulty.
I was considering a fresh Windows install, but I noticed the computer works perfectly without the new GPU and with the old one. It's definitely just the 5080 that's causing the issue.
First off, try using DDU to completely wipe out the existing drivers you have now. After that, see if you can install an older version of the NVIDIA drivers. Sometimes, a newer driver can cause issues like this, and rolling back might just do the trick!
I'll give that a shot! Just to confirm, is there a way to access Safe Mode before the login screen? I crash right away after booting.

My power supply is a 1000-watt, and I did use DDU to wipe the old drivers before setting up the new card.
