Hey everyone, I'm having a bit of trouble with my RTX 4060 Galax graphics card and could really use your advice. I've noticed that while I'm gaming, especially in Counter-Strike, the GPU temperature stays in the range of 87°C to 90°C, but the hotspot temperature spikes above 110°C, which seems way too high. I've been gaming with the GPU hitting 100% usage, and despite some adjustments like lowering the power limit and undervolting, the hotspot temperature problem persists.
I previously opened the card and the thermal pads came loose, so I had a technician replace all the thermal pads and the thermal paste. However, even after that, the overheating issue still remains, particularly with the hotspot. I'm wondering if this is due to a thermal contact issue, a faulty hotspot sensor, or perhaps another problem with the GPU. I would really appreciate any insights or suggestions on what I should check next! Thanks!

It sounds like that hotspot temperature is definitely abnormal for an RTX 4060. One thing to consider is whether the thermal pads were replaced with the correct thickness; they need to be just right for all the cooling to work effectively. Have you checked that? Also, it might be worth seeing if your case airflow is adequate. Try running your system with the side panels off and see if that helps with cooling at all.
Yeah, those temps are concerning. Besides making sure the thermal pads are properly thicknessed, have you also looked into your case's fan layout? Sometimes, opening up the front and side panels can create a big difference in airflow. Just make sure you don't have any dust buildup that's affecting your fans!
