Can I complete my tech course using just an Android tablet?

I'm in my third year of an information systems program, but due to certain circumstances, I don't have access to a laptop right now—just my Android tablet. I'm supposed to learn Java, HTML, CSS, create a simple game using Godot, and handle some SQL. Is it feasible to get through my course with just the tablet?

While you might be able to make it work, I'd say it would be quite challenging. You could potentially run some local apps, but you may struggle with more complex tasks. I suggest checking out computers at your library or trying to grab a cheap used laptop instead.

It's a tough situation! You might be surprised, but some tablets can handle Linux installs, which could help. Just remember, you’d need a keyboard and mouse, and it can be quite inconvenient to set up.

Honestly, using an Android tablet for coding might be a hassle. You could install Termux for some command-line functions, but any sort of laptop will definitely outperform a tablet, especially for programming tasks.

I have serious doubts about your ability to complete your course on a tablet alone. Best to save up for a used laptop, as you'll likely need software that just won't run on your tablet.
