I recently bought a PC for my partner and encountered a frustrating issue: while trying to download Steam, the system just shut off completely. I'm not really sure how to troubleshoot this, as I'm not that familiar with PC building or repairing. The PC has four fans, and I believe three of them are connected to the cooling system. Is there a way to fix this overheating problem?

It sounds like a frustrating situation! First, where did you buy the PC from? Also, how do you know it's overheating? Have you checked the temperatures of the components when it's idle? Using a program like HWInfo64 can help you monitor those temperatures. More details about the parts could also be useful, like a parts list or specific temps.

I bought it off Facebook Marketplace, from a friend of a friend. They did mention it might get hot but didn't warn me about shutting off. I'm not sure about all the parts, but I know there's 32GB of RAM and an AMD Ryzen 7 2700 processor.
