What PC Parts Should I Choose to Achieve 1440p @ 120fps for These Games?

Hey everyone! I'm finally taking the plunge into building my own PC after thinking about it for years. My goal is to create a system that can hit certain benchmarks for a few specific games on 1440p at 120fps without frame generation. I don't need to push everything to high or ultra settings, just want to make sure I hit those performance numbers. The games I want to focus on are Battlefield 6, Arc Raiders, Marathon, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Valorant, and XCOM.

I'm looking for advice on what components would work best, especially in finding the right combination of motherboard, CPU, GPU, and RAM. I'd also appreciate insight on how different settings could impact the hardware choices—like what I could use for low versus medium graphics settings to still hit those benchmarks. I've been doing a fair amount of research but could really use some guidance, so thanks in advance for any help!

A solid setup for you would likely involve a 5070 or 9070 GPU paired with a Ryzen 5 9600X. If you can access a Microcenter, you might find some great bundles that combine AMD motherboards, CPUs, and RAM at a good price, but keep in mind those offers might be in-store only!

Thanks for the tip about Microcenter! I was already planning a trip once I finalize my list. Another comment suggested the Ryzen 7 9800X3D with a 5070Ti—how does that stack up against your suggestion of the 5070 or 9070 with the 9600X?
