Why is my high-end PC crashing unexpectedly?

I've been experiencing some serious issues with my computer lately. It's crashed twice without any warning—no blue screen, it just shuts down and restarts, taking me straight to the BIOS. Before these crashes, I noticed that certain software was becoming really sluggish; for instance, Discord was extremely slow this time, and a game I was loading called Stellaris was slow for hours the last time it happened. I'm running a powerful setup that includes an Asus 870 max gaming motherboard, a GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, and 64GB of Kingston Fury RAM, along with a 4TB NVMe SSD. I also checked the SSD with CrystalDiskInfo and CrystalDiskMark, and everything seems fine. I've updated all my drivers via the Asus Driver Hub and Nvidia. I'm at a loss for what could be causing these problems.

How long have you had this setup? Did you build it yourself? Based on your issues, it seems like the crashing could happen while gaming or even during idle periods, indicating it could be a power issue or overheating. You might want to run a system diagnostic tool like Specify to check if everything’s functioning properly. If you can't find the cause, you might consider looking into your power supply or cooling system.

It sounds like you're running into some serious issues! One thing you can do is check for crash dump files, which can help diagnose the problem. If you can boot into Windows normally or via Safe Mode, check the C:WindowsMinidump folder for any files there. If there are dump files, you can zip the folder and upload it to a file-sharing service. This will help others analyze the issue more accurately. If the Minidump folder doesn't exist, you may want to follow some guides on configuring your system to create these files correctly.
