Yesterday, my PC started acting strange. I noticed that after leaving it running while I was on my phone, the screen began flashing with lines every thirty seconds. I tried restarting and shutting down, and then I realized that my drivers needed an update. After updating them, the screen looked normal again, but now there's this strange line about an inch from the top which doesn't go all the way across—it's like it just stops halfway and disappears. I'm really confused about this since I don't know much about computers. Can anyone give me simple advice on what to do next?

Have you tried posting a picture? Sometimes it's easier to diagnose visual issues that way. If you can't find a way to include it here, just click on my profile for a video that might help.
What kind of monitor are you using? I had a similar issue a couple of weeks back when my cat accidentally loosened my monitor's power cable, which caused the screen to flicker like crazy. Thankfully, I caught it in time and found a video on YouTube that helped reduce the flickering. It might be worth checking your connections first!
Sounds like it could be a display issue. Check if any of the cables are loose or partially unplugged. If everything's connected properly, maybe try using a different cable, or testing the monitor with another computer if you can.

It's an AOC monitor, but that's all I really know about it. It's been a day—what can I do now?
