Need GPU Recommendations: My RTX 3070 Might Be Done

Hey everyone! I'm facing a bit of a predicament with my Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 that I bought back in 2022 for over $500. It seems like it might be cooked—first off, is it normal for a GPU to not last that long? If I do need to buy a new one, what recommendations do you have for something that performs similarly or better than the 3070, but for less than $400? I've fallen out of the loop with GPU prices and new releases since I built my PC. Here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 5600X, GIGABYTE B550 Aorus Elite AX V2 motherboard, 64GB DDR4 Corsair RAM, Corsair RM750X PSU, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB SSD, and Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD.

I’d definitely go for a 5060 Ti if you need a new card. It's within your price range and should give you decent performance.

You might want to check out the RX 9060XT 16GB. It's a solid option and should perform well for your needs.

What made you think your GPU is cooked? If your monitor isn’t detecting a signal, have you tried a different setup or checked all your connections? That can sometimes be a simple fix.

My monitor can’t detect anything from the GPU. I’ve tested multiple inputs and monitors, and nothing works. It went black suddenly while I was gaming, and it hasn’t displayed anything since. A guy who checked it thinks I might need a new GPU but is still testing the parts for a couple more days.

It sounds like your GPU is having some issues. Have you tried troubleshooting first? Maybe reset your thermals or check the connections. If it's really gone, you could sell your RTX 3070 for about $250 to $300, then look into this PNY GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, which is around your budget. Used or open-box deals might work best for you!
