I'm a second-year Computer Science student at a tier 3 college, and I'm really passionate about DevOps. I want to start working on my skills, and I've been looking at various tutorials and roadmaps. I'm currently focusing on understanding key areas like the software development lifecycle (SDLC), Linux (from basics to advanced), Git and GitHub, as well as networking basics, including IP and DNS. I also want to build a strong foundation in IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. However, seeing my classmates working on data structures and algorithms (DSA) and development projects makes me feel a bit left out, especially since I've heard that DevOps opportunities are not so common for freshers. Yet, I notice that some of them get placed in remote companies. Can someone provide me with a realistic plan or insights on how to approach my learning in this area?

It's true that you'll hear a lot of different views on this. But regardless of the path you take, don't forget to code! Avoid jumping into DevOps just because you think you won't need coding, as that’ll make things harder for you later. Stick with coding; it'll help you in the long run.

Right, I'll make sure to start coding and work on some projects to get a better grasp of how everything connects.
