Looking for Feedback on My First PC Build

Hey everyone! I'm taking the plunge into PC gaming, sitting here in the Netherlands, and after waiting on GPU prices, I've realized RAM has become the next hurdle. With prices only getting steeper, I've decided to just go ahead and build my first rig. I'm aiming for a setup that I can easily upgrade over time.

Currently, I'm looking at an AM5 setup, sticking to a pretty conservative GPU and RAM to see if the market stabilizes in the next year or two. My goal is to comfortably play at 1080p at 120Hz now, with plans to upgrade to 1440p down the line. I've picked out a budget-friendly case, started with a single stick of RAM, and selected a PCIe 4.0 SSD since I've read that the new gen drives tend to run hotter and draw more power than necessary for my setup. I've also made sure my PSU is beefy at 50% more wattage than I need.

I'd really love your thoughts on my choices since I'm new to this game and I want to make sure I'm on the right track. Also, I already have two monitors and all the peripherals from my laptop days. Here's my current build:
1. AMD Ryzen 5 7600X - €189.00
2. ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI Motherboard - €199.00
3. Kingston DDR5 ValueRAM 1x16GB 5600 - €209.00
4. XFX Speedster Swft 210 Radeon RX 7600 8GB - €259.00
5. Antec AX27 RGB Elite Case - €44.90
6. Seasonic Core GX-650 PSU (650W 80+ Gold) - €93.90
7. ARCTIC Freezer 8A CPU Cooler - €19.90
8. Lexar NM790 1TB M.2 SSD (PCIe 4.0) - €119.90
**Total (excluding shipping): €1,134.60**

Thanks for any insights!

Looks like a solid build overall! One thing to consider is switching to dual channel RAM instead of sticking with a single 16GB stick. AM5 CPUs tend to perform better with dual channel configurations. Also, I’d advise looking into an upgraded cooling solution since the 7600X can run pretty hot. Everything else seems trustworthy though and definitely upgradable!

Great choices! Just make sure you’re looking at the compatibility between the parts, especially the motherboard and RAM. Using PCPartPicker can really help you sift through the current prices and manage your budget effectively. Best of luck with your build!

I would suggest looking for a cheaper motherboard, you can find decent options around €100. And don’t worry too much about going with 2x8 RAM sticks; having 1x16 gives you flexibility for future upgrades. As for the PSU, it looks fine for your setup, just keep in mind some limitations depending on your actual usage.

I’d recommend considering a GPU with at least 12GB of VRAM. That way, you’ll be more future-proofed if you plan to play newer titles. There are definitely better options in the market for around the same price!

You might want to check out different GPU options; there are better performers in that price range. Also, the B850 motherboard is a newer option worth considering since it could offer similar features for a lower cost. Keeping an eye on the prices is key right now, especially with GPUs.
