How to Connect My Nintendo Switch to a Monitor?

Hi everyone! I'm not very tech-savvy and I have an original Nintendo Switch that I've been using only in handheld mode since I lost my dock during a move. Currently, I don't have a TV, but I really want to enjoy gaming on a bigger screen. I have two monitors available and I think I can connect my Switch to one of them. I found that buying a replacement dock can be pretty pricey, so I'm looking for alternative ways to connect my Switch to a monitor. I believe I have an HDMI cable that I can use too. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot!

You can definitely connect your Switch to a monitor! Just grab a USB-C to HDMI cable. But keep in mind that you won't be able to charge your Switch while you're playing this way. If you already have an HDMI cable, you could just get a USB-C to HDMI adapter for a cost-effective solution.

I tried that with my cable and it didn't work. Any other tips? Thanks!

If you're limited by not being able to charge while playing, you might want to consider investing in a dock. Aftermarket docks run about $25 and OEM ones are around $30, while the cable option is only about $10, but it could cut your playtime short.
