I'm looking for a budget-friendly graphics card that costs no more than $300. I have a really nice 4K 144 Hz QLED monitor, and while I'm not a hardcore gamer focused on max resolution, I want to make sure that I can play newer games smoothly. Right now, I'm considering the RTX 3060, but I currently have an RTX 950 and want to upgrade.

The RTX 3060 is starting to feel a bit outdated. For $300, your best bet might be the RX 6800 XT. It'll give you significantly better performance than the 3060, especially for 4K, but you might have to consider playing at a lower resolution to get the best out of it. Just a heads up!

I scored a PowerColor RX 6800 XT for around $350, though the price has crept up to about $400 now. If you can stretch your budget, it's worth considering.

If you're sticking to the $300 cap, the Intel Arc B580 could be a solid choice. It falls below your limit and offers decent performance, especially for the price!

If you're lucky, you might snag a used RX 6800 (non-XT) or something like an RTX 3080 around that price. Just keep an eye on secondhand listings!

You can find a used RX 6800 or even the RX 6800 XT near $300 on eBay. The RTX 3080 is also within that range. Newer models tend to be a bit pricier, usually around $350, which is where you'll find good value right now. Also, the Arc B580 is a solid lower-budget option, coming in under $250, but it doesn’t quite match the performance of the others. Just be sure to check for resizeable bar support if you go with Arc, as performance can vary with different CPUs.
