I just received a surprise check for $1,500 and have been wanting to build my own PC for a while. I've already set up a nook area for my setup and want to invest in a PC now that I have the funds. However, I've noticed that RAM prices are crazy high and SSD prices are also increasing. I initially wanted to build my own months ago when GPU prices were sky-high. I don't have to buy everything at once and can order parts gradually. I'm not in a rush but I'm concerned about spending too much money right now. Should I go ahead and buy now, or is it better to hold off? Are there specific parts I should buy or avoid? Do you think prices will drop in the future? I appreciate any advice!

Prebuilts are definitely more cost-effective than building your own right now. If there’s a Micro Center nearby, check there for some budget-friendly options compared to making your own.
Honestly, going for a prebuilt from Costco right now might be your best bet. They're pretty reasonably priced and save you the hassle of sourcing parts individually.
If you really need a PC now, go for it! You can score some deals on ready-made systems at stores like Costco, plus you can also find good used components if you look carefully.
I've found that grabbing an old i7 machine and upgrading it with a new case, power supply, and a decent GPU could save you some cash. My current rig runs great with DDR3 RAM, and I can still play recent games without issues.
