I'm currently using a 3080 Founders Edition with 10GB of VRAM, and a friend is offering to trade me his EVGA 3080 Ti, plus I would need to give him $100. Given that I'm running an i9-9900K build, will I notice a significant performance increase that justifies the trade? I'm also considering waiting for a more substantial upgrade like a 5070 Ti, but that option would definitely cost more.

I think the trade is worth it! The 3080 Ti has better performance and it gives you an extra 2GB of VRAM. You should see around an 11% boost in performance, which is decent if you're into gaming.
I'm not sure why your friend is trading down from a 3080 Ti to a 3080. Maybe he just built a new rig with a 5090? That's quite a jump!
Honestly, I wouldn't spend that extra $100. I’d save it up for a real upgrade instead. The 3080 is still a solid card.
Same here! I think holding out for something bigger is a smarter move.

Yeah, I agree! Plus, I've always liked EVGA cards—they have a solid reputation.
