I've been using my Acer laptop for college for about two years now, and while it always had high CPU usage, it never affected its speed until recently. Out of nowhere, it has become really slow, taking ages to open applications and even delaying my typing. I've checked the task manager, and although the disk usage is low, the CPU usage remains high at 80-100%. I've already tried updating and resetting it without any success. Does anyone have suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Are you using Windows 11? Also, check if you have any antivirus programs like Norton or AVG running, as they can sometimes cause performance issues. They might be worth uninstalling.
Try uninstalling any antivirus software you have besides Windows Defender. Some can be more harmful than helpful and may even display ads. After that, disable all auto-start items in Task Manager and reboot your laptop.
I recommend downloading a program like Startup Cop. It can help you manage what starts up with your laptop, preventing non-Microsoft programs from slowing down boot time.
First, check Task Manager to see which processes are using the most CPU. Click on the CPU column to sort the processes. This could give you a clue about what's slowing things down.
