Hey everyone, I could really use some help with my Lenovo Yoga running Windows 11. The touchpad has completely stopped working. I can see where the cursor is supposed to be when I press CTRL because there's a little circle that shows it, but I can't actually see or control the cursor. I've checked the cursor size and settings already, so I don't think it's a visibility issue.
I double-checked the device manager for updates, but after running what was available, it still didn't fix the problem. The touchpad doesn't even show up in the Bluetooth & devices settings anymore, which is really weird. When I search for touchpad settings, it only takes me to a toggle option that isn't helpful.
In the device manager, the only thing I noticed was an error with the I2C HID Device that says it "cannot start. (Code 10) A request for the HID descriptor failed." I tried updating its driver, but it's already the latest version. I even checked under Human Interface Devices, Keyboards, Mice, and so on for any other errors, but nothing else is flagged. The only way I can use my laptop right now is through the touchscreen, which is super inconvenient. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Just a thought, do you have an "Unknown Device" in your device manager? If so, you might need to download the appropriate driver from the Lenovo support site to get your touchpad working again.
If you're feeling adventurous, you could try booting your laptop from a Linux Live USB. This can sometimes help identify if the issue is hardware-related or purely software. It'll be a bit of a challenge to get a Linux version that supports touchscreens out of the box, though!
Have you tried checking if you accidentally disabled the touchpad using one of the function keys on your keyboard? It's a common issue—sometimes it's as simple as toggling it back on using Fn + M or another function key.
I did try Fn + M and while it shows an on/off icon, it doesn’t actually seem to fix the cursor issue. I can tell the cursor is moving, but it's not responsive to my movements.

I don’t see any Unknown Devices, unfortunately. Everything seems to be recognized except the touchpad.
