I'm currently building a PC and I've run into a bit of a problem. My motherboard has only one header for case fans, but I want to connect three case fans. I've got a splitter cable designed for 4-pin fans, but I need to know if it's safe to use with my 3-pin fans. Also, I'm a bit confused about how the pins should align, and which fan connects to which plug. Any guidance, preferably with visuals or a step-by-step guide, would be much appreciated!

Absolutely, you can use a 4-pin splitter with your 3-pin fans. They share the same pin layout, the extra pin on the 4-pin is just for PWM control. As for connecting them, the connectors are designed to fit only one way, so you won't mess that up. Regarding which fan goes where, it doesn't matter since they're all the same type of connector, just plug them in!
I understand your concerns! Just remember that even if one connector has an extra pin, all the fans will still work as long as they’re plugged in correctly.
4-pin splitters are designed to work just fine with 3-pin fans! They’re made to fit properly, which means you shouldn't have any issues with the pins. Just make sure the connectors align correctly, and they’ll connect without a hitch.

Got it, but just to clarify! The adapter has two connectors with only three pins and one connector with four pins. Should I plug a specific fan into the 4-pin slot?
