Why Does My PC Skip BIOS and Go Straight to Windows?

I've been dealing with a frustrating issue on my PC for about a year now. Whenever I turn it on, my monitor shows an "Input not supported" message, preventing me from accessing the BIOS. I try pressing F12 to enter, but that message just stays on the screen. If I don't hit F12, it boots directly into Windows without any problems. I suspect that the resolution might be too low for my monitor to handle. Interestingly, if I power it on without my M.2 drive, I can access the BIOS just fine. But what's the use of that if I need to remove the drive first?

That sounds really strange! It’s weird that you can only access the BIOS when removing the M.2 drive. Do you have a CPU with integrated graphics? Maybe you could try switching the display cable to a different port on your motherboard or monitor. Have you also considered using a different input on your monitor? These might not be perfect solutions, but they are worth a shot since you shouldn't have to constantly access the BIOS anyway!

You can also try a couple of other methods to get into the BIOS. One option is to type `shutdown /r /fw` into the command prompt to boot directly into firmware. Alternatively, you can hold down the Shift key and hit Restart to access the recovery tools. From there, go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > UEFI Firmware Settings. If those don’t work, it might be time to consider updating your BIOS or resetting it with a CMOS reset.
