How Can I Help My Friend Set Up WiFi on Their New PC?

My friend recently bought a new PC, but it's got a questionable Chinese motherboard labeled as Hasse 760M Ace D5. After dealing with some adware issues, we did a fresh install of Windows using OOBE\bypassnro. However, we're struggling to find WiFi drivers online, and when we tried to perform a factory reset through Windows settings, it prompted us to install WiFi drivers but then threw an error instead. I'm considering having him install a Linux OS temporarily so he can connect to the WiFi, and then reinstall Windows from there. Is that a good approach, or will the OOBE bypass prevent this? Plus, he's not very tech-savvy and likely won't be able to stick with Linux long-term. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Installing Linux won't solve the driver issue. The OOBE bypass just allows you to set up a local account; it doesn't affect network drivers. If you can't find a driver for the WiFi hardware, you might need a USB dongle or to connect via Ethernet instead. Think of it this way: you'll still need the necessary drivers for the WiFi to work, regardless of the operating system you’re using.

But if we don't have Ethernet, how would we use a dongle to get the drivers?
