Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to building PCs, and I recently got a gift from my brother: an RTX 5060. I've been using a GTX 1650 for quite some time, and I was excited to make the upgrade. However, after installing the new GPU, I'm facing a no-display issue. Here are my specs: Intel Core i5-10400F, Gigabyte H410M S2 motherboard, 16GB DDR4 RAM, and a couple of storage drives including a Crucial 1TB SSD. The PSU is a Thermaltake Litepower 600W. When I power on the PC, everything seems to run fine — the GPU fans are spinning, but my monitor just shows no signal. I've made sure the cable is connected to the GPU and not the motherboard, and I've tried both HDMI and DisplayPort but still no luck. At one point, the BIOS showed briefly before going back to 'no signal'. I've already reseated the GPU and checked all power cables. I feel a bit overwhelmed and unsure if I messed something up. Am I totally cooked here?

Hey! It sounds like you've done some solid troubleshooting already. One thing you might want to check is the CMOS battery. If you have a battery tester, see if it’s dead. If not, take out the CMOS battery and leave it out for about 10 minutes before putting it back in. This can reset the BIOS and might fix the issue. Also, trying the display connected to the motherboard instead of the GPU could help determine if the new graphics card is faulty. If it still doesn't work, then definitely check that battery! Good luck with it!
Plus one on checking the CMOS battery! If you can, plug your monitor into the motherboard's HDMI or DisplayPort to see if that works. It's a good test to ensure the GPU isn’t the problem. If you get a display that way, then there might be something up with the GPU. But if there’s still no signal, you might want to reset that CMOS like suggested. Fingers crossed for you!
