Did I hook up my 600W power cable correctly?

Hey everyone! I recently upgraded my graphics card from an Nvidia RTX 3080 to the new RTX 5070 Ti, which I snagged at a great price. I've used a 600W modular cable from my BeQuiet power supply instead of using an adapter, but I'm worried about whether I've connected everything properly. I've heard some horror stories about ports melting, so I'd really appreciate it if you could confirm that I've hooked everything up right before I power on my PC again! Thanks! (Photos attached!)

You’ve already received solid advice, but I’d just add: keep an eye on your connections and check them regularly. If any damage occurs, it's usually noticeable pretty quickly, so you’ll have peace of mind that way.

I guess I’ll try to check regularly then. Good point! Thanks!

It looks good! There’s no gap between the cable plug and the GPU/PSU connectors, plus it seems like you’ve got enough space to avoid bending the cable at the connector. You've done what you can to use the cable safely.

Thanks! I'll turn my machine on and hope for the best!

Everything seems fine to me. While issues can happen with the 5070 Ti, they’re pretty rare. Most problems are linked to the 5090, since Nvidia seems determined to push that 12VHPWR connector to its limits with 600W. If they could just lower the max to 400W, there'd likely be fewer issues.

Yeah, I don't like the 600-watt cable either. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Thanks for calming my nerves. I’m hoping my card lasts at least five years; I really don't want to deal with GPU prices right now!
