You might also look into the 5070. I’ve seen PNY 5070s (12GB) on sale for under $500 at local retailers. It could be a great budget choice, especially if you're coming from something like an RX 6600.
If you can find a 9070 non-XT, it's priced at about $590 on Amazon right now. It's a solid option to consider!
For something in that price range, I can recommend the 3080 or even the 4070Ti/Super if you can find them used. I've seen a 3090 for $550 nearby, so keep an eye out for deals. Just know, under $500 might not allow you to fully max out your monitor's capabilities!
I recently got a 9070XT from Microcenter for $580, and I've been really happy with the performance! If you're looking for something in that range, it's definitely worth checking out.
