How can I connect my laptop to my LG TV via HDMI without overscan issues?

I've been using my laptop to stream videos through a Roku Express for a while. While it works for most things, there's noticeable overscan and delay, and I have to keep my AMD graphics driver at an outdated version because updates break the functionality. I thought connecting my laptop directly to my old LG TV using HDMI might help, but I'm running into severe underscan problems.

My TV only offers two aspect ratios: 4:3, which zooms out my 2560x1440 screen, and 16:9, which stretches the image awkwardly. I've played around with different resolutions like 1980x1200, which is too stretched, and 1366x768, which leads to a lot of underscan on one side and overscan on the other. I even get an "Invalid format" message on some settings.

I'm hoping to achieve a 1:1 HDMI output at the maximum resolution. If that's not possible, is there a way to update my graphics drivers while still using screen mirroring?

What model of LG TV are you using? Some TVs have a specific PC input option that eliminates overscan and might even reduce latency. Setting the input to 'PC' or similar can activate that profile.

Here's a picture of my TV! The model number is MEZ37413716(REV01). Does this help?

Most TVs have settings to adjust how they handle incorrect resolutions. Have you explored those options? It could help with your underscan issue.
