Periodic Noise from New Power Supply Unit – What’s Wrong?

Hey everyone, I just built a new PC a few days ago, and everything was working great until recently. After finishing a gaming session in a quiet room, I noticed a "thunk" sound that seems to be coming from the power supply unit (PSU). I checked the PSU fans but didn't see any issues, and I even tried using compressed air, but the noise persists. I'm using a brand new Montech Centaury 2, 850W Gold PSU. Here's a link to the sound I recorded: [link](https://imgur.com/a/mZAgrQE). Any advice would be appreciated!

It's possible that the sound is coming from the PSU's internal components rather than the fan. Sometimes, the capacitors or coils can cause noises under load. A quick check is to see if the PSU fan is spinning when you hear the sound; that could help isolate the issue.

Did you notice if the PSU fan was active when you recorded the noise? If it's not spinning at all, that could indicate a problem. Also, if the smart fan switch isn’t working and you're not getting any fan activity under load, that might be a sign that something isn't right with the PSU. Maybe it needs a replacement.
