I'm having trouble with my Ubuntu installation—it's booting to a black screen and I can't even access recovery mode. I have a dual boot setup with Windows 11 and Ubuntu on an M.2 SSD, and Windows shows all partitions as healthy. I need to extract the files from the Ubuntu partition using another OS since I can't repair Ubuntu right now. I'd really prefer a Windows solution if possible. Additionally, I have a second uninitialized M.2 SSD where I plan to install Arch Linux, but I could use that for recovery if absolutely necessary. Any advice on how to go about this?

The simplest way to access your Ubuntu files is to create a Linux live USB. Just use the Ubuntu install media if you have it; that's your best bet for accessing the drive safely. You can boot from that and mount your Ubuntu partition easily. There are also Windows programs available for ext4 partitions, but I think using a live USB is much simpler for a one-time recovery effort.
Thanks for the tips! That does sound straightforward.
