Best Options for Upgrading My CPU and GPU

Hey everyone! I'm looking to give my PC a little boost and want to upgrade both the CPU and GPU. Currently, I have an AMD 3600X processor paired with a GTX 1660 Super graphics card. My goal is to enhance my gaming experience for more recent titles and maybe dabble with some smaller local machine learning models. My budget isn't super strict, but I definitely want to avoid spending over $1000.

I've been considering upgrading my CPU to a Ryzen 5700X, but I'm not sure about the GPU. I'm using a 1080p monitor right now, but I'm open to options that could also suit a future 1440p setup. One more thing—I'm unsure if I need a new power supply with these upgrades. Does upgrading the CPU sound worthwhile for my needs?

What about a GTX 1050 Ti? Would that be a decent step up from your 1660 Super?

Is the 1050 Ti actually better than the 1660 Super though?

For solid performance at 1440p without breaking the bank, I'd recommend looking into a 5060 Ti 16GB card. You should be able to find a good deal on that, especially since prices are starting to come down a bit.

Make sure you go for the 16GB version, either that or the 9060 XT. Those should perform nicely at 1440p!

Hey! Just a quick question: what's your budget and where are you located? That could really help narrow things down when suggesting upgrades.

I'm in the US right now, and I'm not set on a budget but definitely don't want to go over $1000.

Honestly, I think you might want to consider the Ryzen 5600 XT instead of the 5700X. It offers about 95% of the performance at a $50 lower price. It's a great value for gaming!
