Hey everyone! I'm planning to upgrade my PC this year, and here are my current specs:
- GPU: RTX 3080
- CPU: Intel Core i9-10900K @ 3.70GHz
- Motherboard: MPG Z490 GAMING EDGE WIFI
- RAM: 32GB DDR5
I'm thinking about getting either a 5070 TI or possibly a 5080 for gaming since I usually play at 4K on my OLED monitor. I'm wondering if I should consider upgrading anything else, like my motherboard or CPU, or if they should be fine for my current needs. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Honestly, I'd recommend grabbing that GPU ASAP! Prices are expected to skyrocket in the coming weeks due to reduced supply, so don't wait too long to make your move.
For me, I would just upgrade the CPU, motherboard, and RAM altogether. A fresh upgrade could make a big difference in performance.
Definitely buy the GPU now!
I'd go for the 5070 TI, but do it soon before prices go up or stocks run low. As for your CPU, you could either stick with the i9-10900K and overclock it a bit or consider upgrading to a new motherboard with DDR5 and a 9800X3D for a more future-proof setup. RAM prices are unpredictable, so it’s tough to say if you should hold off or invest now.
I’ve got a 5070 TI running at 1440p, but for 4K, you might want the 5080. That said, I just got a 4K 240hz monitor with the 5070 TI, and it performs impressively! I managed to overclock it to nearly match the 5080's performance, getting great FPS on heavy games like Stalker 2 and Borderlands 4. If you manage your settings right, the 5070 TI does a solid job for 4K gaming and costs a lot less than the 5080!

I totally disagree with you there. The 5080 is definitely more suited for gaming at 4K without compromising on the settings!
