I was running Windows 11 on a computer that doesn't officially support it, and during an update, it ended up deleting the entire Windows installation. Now, I'm stuck with only my backup drive which has Linux Mint on it. I'm trying to figure out how to create a new Windows drive, and I'm wondering if it would be easier to do this using a Windows computer instead. Also, a quick update: I've had some luck getting back to Windows, so I have a dual boot set up for now while I learn more about Linux!

If your machine was dual booting fine, why not keep going with Linux? You could try using something like Ventoy on Linux to make a Windows installer USB. But I get that you want to play your games easily, and that can be tough with Linux compatibility.
You can just download Windows and create a bootable ISO like you normally would; it should be pretty straightforward!

Creating Windows install media is definitely easier on a Windows machine. If you can, use someone’s Windows PC with Microsoft’s Media Creation Tool. It’s much less likely to cause problems than trying to do it from Linux.

Honestly, dual boot setups can be frustrating, especially on older hardware. If you ever want to test Linux without the hassle of a dual-boot, there are browser-based Linux terminal environments that might help you learn without needing any installations.
So far, everything worked until a random update wiped it out! I switched back to Windows 10 since it was stable for me, but I’m still interested in trying out your suggestion.
A lot of my games just don’t run well on Linux, so that's why I set up the dual boot.
