I recently got an old PC from my mom's office, and I'm looking to upgrade its graphics capabilities. Currently, it has a Sapphire Radeon R7 260X GPU from 2013. For my birthday, I want to buy a graphics card that's solid for gaming, ideally under $400. But if the GPU isn't the primary issue, what else should I consider upgrading? Also, I'm having trouble with some games because they say my drivers are outdated. How do I fix that?

Honestly, that GPU is quite outdated, so you may not get great results with modern games. You should check out the other components too, as they could also be old. If you're looking to play recent titles, you might need to consider saving up for a brand-new system instead, as a single upgrade may not suffice.
Please share your system specs! With an older PC like this, you might need to upgrade more than just the video card. That $400 might cover just one part, and you may find that other components also need an upgrade to work well with a new GPU.
I just added the parts list in my post!
First, it would help to list all the parts in your system, like the CPU, RAM, motherboard, storage, and power supply. You can use a tool like CPU-Z to find this info. About the driver issues, since the R7 260X is pretty old, it might struggle with newer games. You can update the drivers from the AMD website for better performance.
Great point! CPU-Z can really help clarify what you’re working with.
Yeah, having the full specs is key before upgrading anything.

Any suggestions on what parts to focus on for upgrades?
