Why can’t I use 240Hz on my Acer Nitro monitor?

I'm having trouble choosing between 2560x1440 at 60Hz and 1920x1080 at 120Hz on my Acer Nitro 27" WQHD IPS Gaming Monitor. The monitor was advertised as capable of 240Hz, but it seems like I'm stuck with these lower refresh rates. My setup includes an RTX 5060 GPU connected through DisplayPort, and I'm using the Nvidia driver from December 2025. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Double-check that you plugged the cable into the GPU and not into the motherboard! It’s an easy mistake and can prevent higher refresh rates from being available.

If upgrading the cable doesn’t help, can you snap a photo of how you have everything connected at the back of your PC? That might help troubleshoot the issue better!

Good idea! I'll post a pic soon.

It might be the cable you're using. Make sure it's a high-quality DisplayPort cable that can handle the required bandwidth. Sometimes, the default cables included in the box are the best bet to ensure compatibility.
