Hey everyone! I want to do something special for my boyfriend, who is a computer engineering major and really into software and hardware. I'm looking to create an application that periodically sends him a reminder telling him how proud I am of him and that I love him. He's been super stressed with internships and finals, and I just want to give him those sweet little reminders of my support. However, I know absolutely nothing about programming! Can anyone help me figure out how to get started with this?

You could keep it really simple by making a basic HTML page that says something like "I love you babe!" You could do this with just a notepad and a web browser!
True, but it could be a fun way to get started, plus she could even add an image to it. He can view it anytime!
Have you thought about what you want to code yet? Even a simple program would impress him, especially given your background. Python is a great first step—it's beginner-friendly and he may be impressed since he's mentioned it before.
Thanks for the tip! I was leaning toward Python since he mentioned it. Just to clarify, when you say 'code him,' do you mean I should write a message or something? Sorry if that sounds silly!
You can also schedule text messages on both iPhone and Android—might be a more straightforward way to send him sweet notes!
That’s a good idea, but I’m hoping to create something he enjoys, like coding!
Looking into something like If This Then That (IFTTT) can also help you automate sending messages. Just a thought!
Just be careful, IFTTT isn't technically programming, and I think most advanced features could be paid now.
That’s such a cute idea! You might consider building a super simple web app with a sweet note for him. It doesn’t have to be complex!
But she mentioned she knows nothing about coding—HTML might not be the easiest starting point!
